| Bobby was very fortunate to have a grandmother who was not only his “built-in” babysitter while growing up but she happened to be a music teacher blessed with skills on multiple instruments as well. His first introduction to music was at the age of 4 when he was brought into the music room and asked, “Choose an instrument…” The piano was the logical choice and the rest is history. He quickly grasped the concept and was enrolled in private lessons from various teachers. At the age of 10, one of his teachers recommended and Bobby was granted acceptance into The Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University . ( Peabody was the first academy of music to be established in the United States ) Some of the more Notable Alumni include: - Tori Amos - An American pianist and singer-songwriter. At age five, she was the youngest person ever to attend the school.
- Tommy Newsom - Saxophonist for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson[4]
- James Morris - World famous Wagnerian Baritone, Grammy winner and Metropolitan Opera Star.
- Phillip Glass - (Prep.) World famous composer of opera and contemporary music.
- Andre Watts - World renowned Concert Pianist, Grammy winner and Professor of Music at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Bobby has performed with various local and a national act as well as the recipient of various awards including: - 1989 - Top Honors, Nashville Music Song Festival – Top 40/Pop Category
